El Bulli chef Ferran Adrià re-enters fine-dining circus

Ferran Adrià, the Spanish chef/chemist responsible for the “deconstructivist cooking” fad (others call his cuisine “molecular gastronomy”), is at it again. Eater. com reports that Adrià — famous for stunts with foam, freeze-drying, etc., at the now-closed resto El Bulli — will be helping his brother Albert with a new place in Ibiza.

This caper will be a resto-nightclub based on “an international and multidisciplinary project,” Albert tells the Spanish website Vanitatis. Eater.com has winkled a hint of meaning out of this: there are negotiations for a joint venture with Cirque du Soleil and Casino de Ibiza. Dinner theatre. Yawn.

How old is too old to be an action hero? Sylvester Stallone is writing the screenplay for, and is expected to star in, a fifth Rambo picture, says this news release from Splendid Film, a German company.

“This time,” the company says, “he goes up against a Mexican cartel. Stallone ... describes the new Rambo as his version of No Country for Old Men.”

If it comes out next year, that’ll be 33 years after the first Rambo picture. Stallone is 67. Spotlight couple? Melanie Griffith, having just split from Antonio Banderas, had a cosy dinner with

Matt Dillon in Rome the other day, the Daily Mail reports. Nobody seems to have any prior record of these two knowing each other.

She’s 56. He’s 50. The ballerina who shared Mick

Jagger’s hotel room in Zurich early this month got into trouble at work when the photos came out, says the N.Y. Post.

Melanie Hamrick, who’s with the New York-based American Ballet Theatre, had phoned in sick, evidently to travel with the Rolling Stones, the paper says.

“Calling in sick is a real no-no. It’s unprofessional,” Nameless Insider told the paper. “This is not going to help her career.”

She’s 27. Mick’s 70.

Katie Couric married rich guy John Molner Saturday in her Long Island backyard, with only about 50 people present. People mag had the story.

They’ve been a couple for two years. She’s 57. He’s 51.

Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman will raise their baby in a $10 million apartment on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

You remember: Lauren was separated from rich guy Andrew Silverman, a close pal of Cowell, when it turned out that she was having Simon’s baby; little Eric was born in February.

The Big Apple condo is just a couple of blocks from where Andy lives with Adam, his 7-year-old son with Lauren.

The Daily Mail, which had the real-estate news, adds that the family will also spend a lot of time in London. TV stars Kristen Bell and Dax

Shepard say they are expecting their second child.

The parents have crusaded against publication of paparazzi photos of celebs’ kids; Bell refers to photogs who take such shots in public as “the pedorazzi.”

She’s 33. Dax is 39. Their daughter Lincoln is 15 months old.
