The Meals on Wheels kitchen serving parts of Pierrefond­s and D.D.O. is in great need of drivers. Meals are delivered to seniors Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is a 2-hour once-a-month commitment and drivers are accompanie­d by another volunteer to help delivering.

The Meals on Wheels kitchen serving Kirkland is in great need of volunteer cooks. Meals are prepared Wednesday and Friday mornings, two cooks work together. This is a 3-hour, once a month commitment.

The Lakeshore Hospital Foundation is looking for volunteers to help host different activities representi­ng the foundation, welcoming people, etc. This is a year-round position as needed. Minimum age 19.

A woman in her 80s in D.D.O. needs someone to accompany her in adapted transport to her dialysis appointmen­t once a week.

An elderly Portuguese man living in Dorval who suffers from Parkinson would enjoy having a male volunteer to socialize with once a week. He enjoys the card game Romy and would enjoy learning others. He also takes an interest in chatting about world events.

An elderly Greek lady in Kirkland desperatel­y needs the support of a Greek-speaking woman.

A D.D.O. man in his late 20s, who suffered a brain injury as a child, is looking for a male volunteer to go to a hockey game or to the movies with, every couple of weeks. He uses a wheelchair when he’s out of the house. He has a great sense of humour, enjoys hockey, movies painting and getting to know people.

A 75-year-old woman in Pointe-Claire would enjoy having someone take her on outings once in a while. She has had a stroke recently. She enjoys live music and live theatre.

An 87-year-old Greek-speaking woman in D.D.O. would benefit from a Greek-speaking female volunteer to accompany her on outings once or twice a month. She has mobility issues and cannot go out unaccompan­ied. She enjoys baking and cooking.

A middle-aged single mother with some mental-health problems would benefit from a female volunteer to provide some social support through regular visits.
