Kanye West serves the community by serving himself
In March, Kanye West got away with just community service for beating up a paparazzo in an incident last July, remember? But if you had visions of Kanye cleaning toilets someplace, or ladling out stew in a homeless shelter, you obviously don’t know about the Important Persons Act.
TMZ.com revealed the other day that West’s actual “community service” consists of giving speeches to fashion students about his own fashion opinions and experiences. Ego-tripping, I believe, is the technical term.
Most recently, he did this at someplace called the Los Angeles Trade Technical College.
The N.Y. Daily News notes that last November, speaking to students at Harvard, West actually said this: “I really do believe that the world can be saved through design.” Meaning, you know, his design.
He’s 37.
