Track maintenance and Canada Day will affect Montreal commuter train service.

The Vaudreuil-Hudson train will be out of service periodically over the coming weeks to allow for maintenance, the Agence métropolitaine de transport says.

The line, which links offisland communities, the West Island and downtown Montreal, will be completely closed on weekends, between June 28 and July 20.

It will also be shut down on June 30 and July 1.

Buses will replace trains when the line is closed, except on June 30, when riders will have to find other ways to travel, the AMT says.

In addition, the AMT’s Candiac and St-Jérôme lines will not operate on June 30.

On July 1, Canada Day, the Deux-Montagnes and St-Jérôme lines will offer Sunday service. Two other lines — Mont-St-Hilaire and Candiac — will be out of commission on Canada Day.

Société de transport de Montréal bus and métro service will also be reduced on Tuesday for the Canada Day holiday.

For buses, check schedules for individual lines (online at stm.info; by phone at 514786-4636). The métro Orange and Green lines will be on a Saturday schedule. The Blue and Yellow lines will operate on Sunday schedules.

Frustrated Turcot Interchange users may feel a little relief this weekend, as various ramp openings are scheduled to be taking place.

The ramp leading f rom Highway 15 north to Highway 20 westbound will be reopened starting Saturday morning.

The partial closing of the ramp leading from Highway 720 west to Highway 15 northbound will come to an end at some point during the weekend.

And the partial closing of the ramp leading from Highway 15 south to Highway 720 east will also be over with. The transport department does warn, however, that in the case of bad weather or operational constraints, the reopenings could be postponed.

Other full closings are also to be expected during the summer as maintenance work and repairs continue.
