Birthday Gal: Actress Marisa Tomei was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. today in 1964. This birthday gal won a 1992 Oscar for her portrayal of Mona Lisa Vito in “My Cousin Vinny.” Her other film work includes “The Lincoln Lawyer,” “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” and “The Wrestler.” Currently, she appears as Mimi Whiteman on “Empire” and Tomei also played the recurring role of Angie on “Rescue Me.”

Aries (Mar 21-Apr. 19): Don’t sweat the small stuff. Minor problems and irritations don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things, so don’t let them get under your skin. No matter how dire a situation may seem it will likely be gone by tomorrow.

Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20): To each their own. Simply because your friends have other plans for the evening doesn’t mean you’re being purposely excluded. There’s a whole big world out there for you to explore and create your own adventure.

Gemini (May 21-June 20): Don’t take anything for granted. A friend or loved one may simply not be able to help you out of a tight spot so tread carefully. Tell the object of your affection how much they mean to you and don’t assume that they already know.

Cancer (June 21-July 22): Close all accounts. Now is the time for tying up loose ends and finishing up all unfinished tasks. Clear your slate now so that next week you can focus all your attention and energy on starting an important new project.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22): TGIF. Concentrate on letting your hair down with friends this evening or enjoying an intimate rendezvous with the target of your heart’s desire. Take care of your in-box, but hold off on starting new projects, signing contracts or entering agreements.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Don’t let your mouth write checks that your body can’t cash. If you embellish the truth or talk up your abilities too much eventually someone is going to call your bluff. Just be yourself and prepare to enjoy the coming weekend.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22.): Let sleeping dogs lie. A situation may still be unresolved but bringing it up could just stir up the hornets’ nest all over again. Leave well enough alone. Make plans for enjoying yourself with friends and/or loved ones.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Watch your step. Those who go looking for faults are certain to find them. Even minor indiscretions could be turned into a federal case. Simply do what is asked of you and then enjoy time with your favorite people tonight.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Some risks just aren’t worth taking. Gambling could seem like a quick way to increase fortunes but could leave you broke even quicker. Your best bet is to leave things exactly as they are and not depend on Lady Luck.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): Don’t chase rainbows. Big dreams are fine, but you can’t expect them to be granted to you instantly like a genie grants wishes. Reach many smaller, short-term objectives before you are able to realize the ultimate goal.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Give someone a little space. A healthy relationship doesn’t require constant contact and a significant other may simply need a moment to take a breath. Make sure to check prices before ordering a meal or a drink.

Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20): A spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down. It will be much easier to make a difficult disclosure to a close friend or loved one if you initially lighten the mood. The knowledge you impart is necessary and helpful.

If December 4 is your birthday: Take it easy and enjoy holiday and family oriented activities during the next two to three weeks. After the New Year you may need to put your nose to the grindstone and work hard to meet expectations. Focus on group activities as a way to inspire you to greater self-discipline in January. Throughout February you might be tempted to make ill-advised financial and business adjustments. Your best interests are best served by waiting until May to make crucial decisions and changes.
