Roadwork, fireworks will disrupt weekend traffic
Work on the Montreal West Interchange and the Mercier Bridge, and fireworks by the Jacques Cartier Bridge, will disrupt traffic this weekend.
As part of continuing construction on the Turcot Interchange, work will be done on the Montreal West Interchange, requiring the closure of Highway 20 eastbound between Exit 64 (St-Jacques St./ Angrignon Blvd.) and the access ramp toward St-Jacques and Angrignon Blvd. from Friday at 10 p.m. till Monday at 5 a.m.
During the same period, Transport Quebec also will close one of two lanes of the ramp from Route 138 eastbound (Mercier Bridge) to Highway 20 eastbound. And the Highway 20 ramp westbound for the Mercier Bridge will be closed from Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.
The Ville Marie Tunnel eastbound will be closed completely Saturday from 8:30 p.m. to midnight between Mountain St. and Papineau Ave. for the International Fireworks Competition. The Jacques Cartier Bridge will be closed in both directions at the same time, also for the fireworks.
On the Bonaventure Expressway, the exit for Pierre Dupuy Ave. and Carrie-Derick St., on the westbound side, heading toward downtown, will be closed from Friday at 10 p.m. till Monday at 5 a.m.
Deck replacement work on the Mercier Bridge means traffic will be closed on the side of the bridge headed toward the South Shore, with traffic rerouted to the other side, with one lane of traffic running in each direction.
