MTV awards snub: A sign the tide is turning on Taylor Swift?

Did we just pass Peak Swift? Taylor Swift has probably had to expand some of her numerous homes to accommodate all the trophies, statuettes, plaques and prizes she has collected over the years. From Academy of Country Music Awards to YouTube Music Awards, she’s got more hardware than Home Depot.

But this week, following her messy Calvin Harris breakup and that squabble with Kanye West, Swift was utterly passed over for MTV’s Video Music Awards — not a single nomination. Last year she had 10, winning four.

Swift’s been heard to worry, sometimes, about over-exposure; we may finally be there. New York mag even published a piece entitled When Did the Media Turn Against Taylor Swift? Is this the beginning of the end?

Jared Leto tells Rolling Stone about his teenage hobby: “My experience with drugs? I did them, lots of them. A lot of them were really fun.”

But “… at some point, too, there’s a decision: ‘Is this going to be my life?’ I made a choice to pursue other dreams. I guess that’s just the kind of (bad word) thing about a lot of drugs: The opportunity cost is too high. Some drugs are incredible, but the risk versus reward is out of line.”

The astonishing Claudia Schiffer

is embroiled in a nasty controversy in Majorca, where her gardener allegedly cut down two pine trees blocking the view from her mansion.

Unfortunately, these trees were on somebody else’s property, the Daily Express reports.

And not just any “somebody else.” Willi Weber, former manager for Formula One driver Michael Schumacher, has lodged a criminal complaint, alleging that the former top model ordered the gardener to wield his saw.

This all happened in Andratx, a swanky municipality at the southwest tip of Majorca, a Spanish island in the Mediterranean.

The case has been dragging on for a year, the Daily Express reports, but now Claudia and hubby Matthew Vaughn may find themselves in court, the local paper Diario de Mallorca reports. The gardener has already been questioned.

Kristen Stewart confirms, to Elle mag’s U.K. edition, that she is indeed in a relationship with her friend Alicia Cargile, once her personal assistant and now a visual-effects presenter.

“Right now I’m just really in love with my girlfriend. We’ve broken up a couple of times and gotten back together, and this time I was like, ‘Finally, I can feel again.’

“… When I started dating a girl … I was like, ‘Actually, to hide this provides the implication that I’m not down with it or I’m ashamed of it,’ so I had to alter how I approached being in public. It opened my life up and I’m so much happier.”

She’s 26.

It’s a boy, born last Saturday and named Frederick Easton Klein, for American Pie actor Chris Klein and his wife Laina Rose Thyfault.

Klein’s career has gone mostly downhill since the American Pie movies. Laina is a travel agent. He’s 37.
