Champlain Bridge, La Fontaine tunnel partially shut this weekend

Motorists are advised to steer clear of Champlain Bridge and to instead take the Jacques-Cartier, Victoria or Honoré-Mercier bridges if leaving the island this Oct. 1-2 weekend. Highway 15 and Champlain Bridge:

Completely closed southbound between the Turcot Interchang­e and Highway 132, from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. One of the three lanes heading to Montreal will also be shut on the bridge. Nuns’ Island can be accessed via Gaétan-Laberge Blvd. from the Bonaventur­e Expressway.

Victoria Bridge: Both lanes will be available heading toward the South Shore only, and no lane available heading toward Montreal, from 11:59 p.m. on Friday to 3 a.m. on Monday.

Jacques-Cartier Bridge: A third lane could be opened at any time toward the South Shore, depending on traffic. Highway 25 and Louis-Hyppolite-La Fontaine tunnel: Completely closed heading south, between Exit 4 (Souligny Ave.) and Île Charron, from 12:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Saturday. One of the three lanes heading north will be closed, between the Île Charron bridge and Souligny Ave., from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

Highway 40: Completely closed westbound between Exit 82 (RoiRené Blvd.) and entrance of Langelier Blvd. from 11 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday, from 11 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday and from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday. As a result, Highway 25 North and South access roads for Highway 40 West will be closed. Highway 25/640 interchang­e in Terrebonne and Mascouche: Complete closure of the Highway 640 West access road for Highway 25 South from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday. There will be a detour via Exit 38 (Anglais Rd.). Complete closure of the service roads to Highway 25 North (11 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday; 10 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday) and South (11:59 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday; 11 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday).
