Canada M&A hits Q3 record

A record US$113.3 billion of mergers and acquisitions involving Canadian firms were announced in the third quarter as domestic companies continued to seek growth abroad, driving outbound deals to US$77.7 billion, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. This year, US$238 billion of Canadian deals have been announced. That’s slightly below the previous high, set in 2007, when US$248 billion were announced through Sept. 30.
