Raonic withdraws from Delray final
Top-seeded Milos Raonic withdrew from the Delray Beach Open final because of a hamstring injury, giving the title to Jack Sock. Raonic pulled out Sunday from the tournament in Delray Beach, Fla. The 26-year-old Canadian, the fourth-ranked player in the world, slightly tore his right hamstring Saturday in his semifinal victory over Juan Martin del Potro. The thirdseeded Sock wound up with his second title of the year and moved up to a career-best 18th in the ATP rankings. “This is disappointing in a lot of ways,” Raonic said. “I’ve been unfortunate with suffering injuries in three tournaments in a row.”
Kings grab Bishop in goalie swap
The Los Angeles Kings acquired goaltender Ben Bishop from the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday in a trade that included goalie Peter Budaj and an exchange of draft picks. The Kings will pair Bishop with Jonathan Quick in a remarkable goaltending tandem down the stretch. Quick returned Saturday from a 59-game absence with a serious groin injury. The Kings gave up Budaj, junior defenceman Erik Cernak, a 2017 seventh-round pick and another conditional pick. Los Angeles received Bishop and Tampa Bay’s 2017 fifth-round pick. Also Sunday, the Minnesota Wild acquired centre Martin Hanzal from the Arizona Coyotes.
