N.D.I.P. residents invited for free pancakes with councillors

- GREG DUNCAN

Question: How often does a resident of any town get to meet their elected members of municipal council over a plate of pancakes?

Answer: Rarely, if ever, but that’s all about to change in Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot.

The town is inviting local families to join councillors to do just that between 9 a.m. and noon at Carrefour Notre-Dame on May 20. Note that the free pancake breakfast is reserved for residents of Notre-Dame. Register at: eventbrite.ca/e/billets-dejeunercrepes-pour-les-familles-perrotdamoises-34040868153.

In other N.D.I.P. news, concrete has been poured for a new skate park being set up at Parc des Mesanges. The newly erected skate park has been built in collaboration with volunteers and will prove to be popular with younger residents. The “Diy Ndip skateparc” Facebook page shows recent pictures of the building process, as does the town’s official Facebook page.

Recent Earth Day celebrations and an annual blood collection drive were a success by all accounts, with many locals participating.

Following a successful contest and campaign of la Famille tellement perrotdamoise in 2016, the town once again invites its citizens to participate in the initiative under the same theme and banner for summer 2017. The contest challenges local residents to submit their candidatures to become Notre-Dame’s la Famille tellement perrotdamoise by participating in the town’s various scheduled activities, by exploring the territory, and by sharing their adventures and discoveries with other citizens through video content that the town will regularly publish on social media. All the information necessary explaining how to participate can be found at tellementbeau.org/ftp.

In an effort to keep its citizens well informed, Notre-Dame regularly publishes an events calendar. The May calendar that list schedules for everything from special recycling and big garbage days to activities such as when local outdoor markets are open and can be found at ndip. org/evenements.
