No turning the page on digital news
Re: “Print edition part of my everyday life” and “Digital news is the present and future” (Letters, June 13) Several years ago, fed up with recurring delivery problems, our family chose to cancel our much-loved subscription to the Gazette, opting for digital only. Despite rare download problems, we are extremely satisfied to have gone paperless.
We read digital comments, can expand font size with two fingers for easier reading and access additional resources. We also take screen shots of the articles we enjoy, to share them with friends by email. We print games or cartoon sections for play or posterity.
I understand the hue and cry against the La Presse decision to opt for digital only. But once you learn and appreciate the benefits of technology — from washing machines to automobiles and air conditioning in blistering summer heat — there is simply no turning back. Harry Dikranian, Montreal
