“Kimo, he’s not just my dog, he’s a family member,” says proud Doberman owner Johnny Hyszko. “If we have a barbecue, he has a steak — that’s his favourite. “It’s funny, when people don’t know him they get a bit nervous because he shows his teeth a lot. He’s just smiling, though, he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. In fact, the other day he chased a marmot around on the lawn. He caught up to it fast and ran around in circles. He didn’t try to eat it.

“He just wants to have a good time.”

Name: Kimo Breed: Doberman Age: 6 Owner: Johnny Hyszko Neighbourhood Côte-des-Neiges Favourite neighbourhood spot to walk in: There’s a little forest just off of Wilderton (Ave.) I like

walking him there because I take him off the leash and he can run around. What do you love about the

neighbourhood?: I like that it’s in the middle of the city but quiet. I’m anywhere in 10 minutes. Also, I like that I can walk him without a leash and no one says anything. On a scale of 1-10, how dogfriendly is the neighbourhood?:

10. A lot of dogs.
