LAURENT & CLARK
Condo project includes fitness centre
With trendy restaurants, easy access to shops, and a substantial list of annual events, the Quartier des Spectacles district of Montreal is one the most vibrant parts of the city. All this considered, it’s no surprise that developers have been looking to build condos in the area. The Laurent & Clark project by Rachel Julien currently under construction, for example, means its condo owners will soon be able to take in all the area has to offer by living mere steps away from the heart of the action.
The development will feature two towers upon completion, the first containing 21 storeys and 159 units, and the second 25 storeys and approximately 175 units. Phase 1 is expected to be delivered in 2019. Its units will range from 330 to 2,560 square feet. Floors two through five will contain studios and one-bedroom condos; six through 18 will house larger units, and the top three storeys will be reserved for the penthouse condos, ranging in size from 1,465 to 2,560 square feet.
The units will feature some elegant yet whimsical design elements.
“They will be meticulously designed, with pure, straight lines, and a touch of fun through plays on contrasting concepts like night and day, and white and black, with some retro or oversized decor elements, too,” said Mélanie Robitaille, vice-president of finance and development at Rachel Julien. “These dualities will be everywhere, in the porcelain ceramics, matte or shiny kitchen cupboards, quartz countertops, and even wood floors.”
The orientation of the condos will also be somewhat unique and allow owners to maximize the views from their units.
“The project is composed of crossing units from east to west which is a rarity in Montreal,” Robitaille said. “It gives the owner the opportunity to appreciate both sides of the city.”
If the design of the units isn’t enough to attract you on its own, you may be interested to learn about the impressive array of amenities planned for the project. The developers went a long way in ensuring that owners will have access to top-notch features, including a complete circuit spa, lounge area, and fitness centre.
“The circuit spa will include a thermal experience with steam showers, an overflowing hot tub you can swing over in hanging chairs, a sauna, multiple rest spaces with a foyer, ottomans, cushioned beds, and chairs,” Robitaille said. “There will also be a lounge including a semi-private reception room, and fun spaces with a pool table and a games table.”
The fitness centre will be a 1,500-square-foot space combining two opposing styles: a boxing gym and crossfit gym.
“On one side of the running track, the space will be filled with cardio and weight machines,” Robitaille said. “On the other side, street-workout aficionados can test their athletic strength and endurance on climbing and jump ropes, punching bags, Swiss balls, and more.”
There will also be an outside terrace on the fourth floor with a fireplace for colder evenings.
Aside from these amenities, developers are hoping the first floor of the project will contain commercial entities, such as a restaurant and café. Other perks of the project include a 24-hour concierge service, as well as semiprivate elevators that will open up into most units.
In addition to the high-end units and amenities, the development’s location is its own selling point.
“Being located just a couple steps from the Place des Arts métro, the festivals, and the Maison Symphonique is what makes this project exceptional,” Robitaille said.
“You’ll have a front-row seat for all the shows and festivals; with a glass of wine in hand and a blanket on your knees, there’s no seat more comfortable for taking in a show and enjoying the extraordinary experience — and the panoramic views are incomparable.”
