ON THE START OF THE PREDATORS SEASON

Great so far. We’re starting to move in the right direction. We had some key injuries in our lineup. So we’re having guys step up every night. It’s very similar to what we went through last year at the start of the year. A lot of adversity, with injuries.

ON THE MOVE FROM MONTREAL TO NASHVILLE

It’s been great. It’s a great city to live in. Obviously the lengthy playoff run was just the icing on the cake. It’s so hard to get to the Stanley Cup final and we got there. That definitely helped in the transition. And it’s an even better feeling coming into this season feeling we can be better than last year.

COMPARING PLAYING IN MONTREAL AND NASHVILLE

First of all, it’s not in Canada so that’s a big difference. It’s a different culture but obviously two great cities to play in. Montreal has so much history and we had some great teams in the years that I played there. So it was a lot of fun.

ON NASHVILLE AS A HOCKEY MARKET

I think hockey has a pretty big presence here, not just in Nashville but in Tennessee, especially after the run we had last year. Definitely throughout my first year you could see the awareness continued to grow during the year and so it was a lot of fun to be part of it.

ON HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH MONTREAL

I didn’t expect it to change, because that relationship wasn’t just built over one season. It was built over almost 10 years, since I was drafted in 2007, and it’s a longstanding relationship. Not just a lot of fans there but a lot of friends. And I always had a positive relationship with the fan base. I love them probably more than they love me. We had some great teams and we had some fun runs. I felt I performed really well when I was in Montreal. I left on a high note whereas some players leave at a point where they’re struggling in their careers.
