New government, same old problems

-

Another election has come and gone, and what did we get? Same old, same old.

No matter how Valérie Plante tries to spin it, her administration’s budget points to a tax increase for the majority of Montrealers.

I am starting to believe that Montreal is a money pit, and no matter who is in office the end results are always the same — more taxes, less service.

Construction has become Montreal’s fifth season, except it lasts all year and never seems to be completed.

Thanks to the Parti Québécois who started the mergers nightmare and the Liberals who saw it through, citizens who are not part of the Montreal bureaucracy are doling out tax dollars to feed the beast.

My only hope is that mayors who are part of the Montreal Agglomeration Council stand up and say, “Enough is enough” and resist Montreal’s over-spending and wasteful habits.
