Suspect in custody after stabbing at restaurant

A 56-year-old man is in police custody and a 65-year-old in stable condition in a hospital after what appears to be a work-related dispute ended with a stabbing on Monday morning.

The incident occurred around 8:40 a.m. Police received 911 calls concerning an argument that broke out in a restaurant on Lacombe St. near Côte-des-Neiges Rd.

Investigators believe a former employee returned to the restaurant and became entangled in an argument with four of his excolleagues, one of them the victim. The dispute ended with the victim being stabbed in the upper body.

The ex-employee was arrested and was being questioned by police.
