Firefighters retrieve young man’s body from river

The body of a man believed to be in his 20s was discovered in the Rivière-des-Prairies on Sunday afternoon.

Passersby called 911 at 2:45 p.m. to report seeing a body floating in the water near the intersection of Gouin Blvd. and St-Jean-Baptiste St. in the Rivière-des-Prairies borough.

Montreal firefighters retrieved the body.

Last week, police found the body of a woman in the same river.
