- KATHRYN GREENAWAY kgreenaway@postmedia.com

The Lakeshore Artists Association has been exhibiting work by West Island artists for 30 years. It celebrates the milestone birthday with a spring exhibition and sale a Fritz Farm in Baie-d’Urfé, April 21-22.

One third of the proceeds from sales plus all proceeds from an art raffle will benefit the community health organization NOVA West Island.

NOVA offers at-home palliative care, bereavement programs, home support and adult day centres and support programs which benefit ALS and Alzheimer caregivers.

Around 45 artists will exhibit framed and unframed oils, pastels and drawings plus sculpture and textile on two floors.

Award-winning artist Muriel Smith Baran, whose watercolours often focus on trees, and acrylic figurative contemporary artist Louise Langlois have each donated a painting to the raffle.

Over the three decades, LAA exhibitions have raised more than $1.1 million for West Island charities.

The Lakeshore Artists Association exhibition and sale is at Fritz Farm, 20477 Lakeshore Rd., April 21-22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibition’s vernissage is Friday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. and is open to the public. Admission is free for both the vernissage and the twoday exhibition.
