Expect weekend roadwork to close Turcot, Décarie, Bonaventure

- JASON MAGDER

This weekend will again see the region’s two biggest roadwork projects wreak havoc on city highways. Other roadwork will also force motorists off the beaten path. Here’s what to expect on the roads this weekend.

TURCOT

Because of work on the Turcot Interchange, the westbound VilleMarie Expressway and Highway 20 will be closed from the Robert-Bourassa/Champlain Bridge exit until the entrance at Ste-Annede-Bellevue Blvd., at the Montreal West Interchange.

The eastbound Ville-Marie will be closed at the Turcot Interchange until the de la Cathédrale/NotreDame St. entrance downtown.

Highway 20 East will be closed at the Angrignon exit No. 64, until the next entrance, and the eastbound Highway 20 access ramp for Highway 15 North and the Ville Marie will be closed. Motorists will be able to get to Highway 15 South leading to the Champlain Bridge from Highway 20 East.

The Décarie Expressway entrances to both Highway 20 West and the eastbound Ville-Marie will be closed. All the closures run until 5 a.m. Monday.

DÉCARIE/METROPOLITAIN EXPRESSWAYS

Transport Quebec said it must close northbound Décarie Expressway ramp to Highway 40 West, the Côte-de-Liesse Expressway and Marcel Laurin Blvd. from 11 p.m. Saturday until 2 p.m. Sunday so workers in Town of Mount Royal can repair a water main

BONAVENTURE EXPRESSWAY/HIGHWAY 15/ NUNS’ ISLAND

Because of work to demolish two overpasses in the area leading to the Champlain Bridge, the eastbound Bonaventure Expressway (leading to the bridge) will be closed at Gaétan-Laberge Blvd. from Saturday at 7 a.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.

On Highway 15 South, Exit 57 for Nuns’ Island will be closed according to the same schedule.

The work will require Île-desSoeurs Blvd. to be closed in both directions on Nuns’ Island from Place du Commerce and PointeNord Rd.

Cars will be detoured to RenéLevesque Blvd.
