The Centre d’hébergemen­t DenisBenja­min-Viger has residents that speak Tamil, Italian, Romanian and Polish who would enjoy having conversati­ons with volunteers in their mother tongue. An Italian resident likes to play Scopa, talk and reminisce about Italy. Some other residents who would enjoy meeting with a volunteer to play card or board games.

Bread Basket Lac St-Louis is looking for new members to join their board of directors. They are looking for people who are engaged, motivated and are interested in the pursuit of food security on the West Island. Applicatio­ns should be received by May 31.

The CHSLD Bayview Auxiliary is committed to fundraisin­g and to organizing events and programs that enhance the quality of care and effectiven­ess of the centre’s services. They need new volunteers to put together these activities. Meetings take place on the first Monday of the month, and planned activities include an annual bazaar, card parties and more.

The Grandparen­ts’ Associatio­n of Quebec is looking for home-based volunteers for their help-line. You would answer calls from grandparen­ts who need comfort and advice. You commit to seven hours per week, usually five calls or less. A trainingin-active listening is provided and a monthly meeting is held with volunteers and program co-ordinators.
