THE WRINKLE SOLUTION FROM WITHIN?

Why does skin look worse with age? Why does it get thin, spotted and start to sag? And is there a way to stop or reverse it? The recent craze in collagen supplements might give us a clue.

THIN SKIN?

With age, our skin starts thinning, which creates wrinkles and sagging. When we try to get back the smooth and thick skin of younger years, we use outer skin treatments. But the answer might be to look within and to consider collagen and socalled ‘‘Beauty from Within’’ supplements.

WHAT IS COLLAGEN?

Collagen is a protein that holds things together strongly. And when you have a lot of collagen in the skin, it will be thicker, smoother on the surface, and thus younger looking. The best type of collagen is called Type 1, but there are several other types of collagen being sold, so be selective.

WANT TO LOOK YOUNGER?

So how do we get more collagen in the skin? Collagen creams don’t reach deep dermal layers, so most of the effect is lost. Pure collagen tablets seem to get digested by the stomach and never reach the skin. However, the new trend is to get the skin to produce more collagen by itself, with targeted active nutrients.

PROMOTING COLLAGEN FORMATION

New Nordic has produced clinically proven tablets, to promote collagen formation in the skin, using nutrients from pomegranate, algae, and tomato. The high amounts of vitamins C, the astaxanthin, zinc and type 1 collagen all help increase collagen formation in the skin, as well as protect it from collagen breakdown. In a 2 month open label study* of Skin CareTM the results were surprisingly good:

AFTER 28 DAYS:

- Significantly improved skin moisture and hydration - Significantly reduced facial wrinkles

AFTER 56 DAYS:

- Significantly improved skin elasticity - Significantly improved skin tone (redness) - Significantly improved skin firmness
