Be thankful if your travel plans don’t include the Turcot Interchange this weekend
Among the many things to be thankful for this holiday Thanksgiving weekend, a break from traffic congestion in the Montreal region will not one of them.
Transport Quebec and the federal corporation overseeing the island’s bridges are warning of weekend work on the Turcot Interchange and the Champlain and Honoré-Mercier bridges.
On the Mercier, lanes will be reduced to one in each direction from Friday at 10 p.m. until Tuesday at 5 a.m.
Highway 15 northbound, just after the Champlain Bridge, will be reduced from three lanes to one between Nun’s Island and GaétanLaberge Blvd. in Verdun from Friday at 10 p.m. until Tuesday at 5 a.m. The exit for downtown Montreal off of the Highway 15 northbound will also be closed during that period.
The 15 will be closed completely between Exit 63 for the 20 West and the Sherbrooke St. entrance ramp at the same time. The northbound highway will also be closed nights as of Exit 62 for de la Vérendrye Blvd.
At the Turcot Interchange, the exit from Highway 20 eastbound to Highway 15 northbound and the Décarie Expressway will be closed from Friday at 11:59 p.m. till Tuesday at 5 a.m.
The exit from the Ville Marie Expressway westbound to Highway 15 northbound and the Décarie Expressway will be closed at the same time. So will the exit off Highway 15 southbound leading to Highway 20 west.
Highway 20 eastbound will be closed at the Turcot Interchange from Friday at 11:59 p.m. till Tuesday at 5 a.m. As well, Exit 63 for Route 138 West/St-Pierre/LaSalle/Mercier Bridge from Highway 20 westbound is closed from Friday at 11:59 p.m. till Tuesday at 5 a.m.
