DI CECCO, Rinaldo

March 13, 1949 - February 1, 2020

-

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Rinaldo Di Cecco, or Big Ron as he was affectionately known in the boxing world, on February 1 at the age of 70. Ron was predeceased by the love of his life, Diane Gagnon in 2016, something we all knew he truly never recovered from. He leaves to mourn his sister Iolanda (Donald), brothers Giovanni, Argentino (Carol), Riccardo and Daniello, his niece Jolene and nephews Mica, Glen and Marc as well as many relatives, friends and kickboxing students. Ron was a character. He filled a room with enthusiasm and energy.

He was loyal and kind and devoted to his family and friends and most definitely to his boxing students, with whom he formed deep and lasting bonds. Ron was many things, from advertising executive to talented musician, whatever he turned his attention to, he invested himself 100 percent. Ron was heavily involved in the boxing industry and was very proud of the roster of boxers he trained and mentored. There really was no one quite like him. He lived a good life, but left us all far too soon. If there is one thing that gives us peace, its knowing he has been reunited with his beloved Diane.

A celebration of his life will take place on February 29th from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 5 p.m. at Yves Legare Complexe Pierrefonds, 14370 Pierrefonds Blvd., Pierrefonds, H9H 4R7

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
