Montreal, QC - July 4, 1938 Calgary, AB - April 10, 2020

Our dear husband and father, Norman, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Carewest Colonel Belcher in the early morning hours of Good Friday. Norman was a devoted employee for 40 years with both the Montreal Gazette (where he was known as "Stormin’ Norman ") and the Calgary Herald. For over 50 years Norman treasured his time spent and friends made as part of the Masonic Order; his devotion and service extended to his membership in both Greenfield Park Masonic Lodge #133 and Maple Leaf Chapter, Montreal and Glenbow Masonic Lodge #184 and Alberta Chapter No. 1, Calgary. In his youth, Norm played many sports, including football, his favourite, and was an avid sports fan throughout his life.

Norman gave us a lifetime of cherished memories with travels across every province and two territories and both the east and west coasts of the US into Mexico. A founding member of the Rundle/whitehorn Boy Scout troop, he taught many how to enjoy the outdoors and care for their community.

Norman’s great smile and wonderful sense of humour will be remembered by his devoted wife, Carolyn (Carol), his son Jon, his daughter Kristen Beaulieu (Derek, Maddie and family). Also grieving his loss are his sisters-in-law Lorna Kay (Bruce, Dawn and family); Ann and Stuart Lock (Kelly); his nephew Mark Kavanagh (Karen, Christopher, Kim and Doug); Teri Kavanagh (Shayne); Lori Vellinga (Vic, Molly and Keenan), and his dear cousin Paul and Dee Dee Ingram, and extended family.

Norman was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Doris, an infant brother, his dear sister Ann and brother-in-law Tony, also Carol’s parents, Caroline and Perc, and his brother-in-law, Alex Kay.

We wish to thank the wonderful staff at Carewest Colonel Belcher for their excellent care of Norman. Thanks also to our dear family, dear friends and the congregation of St. George’s who provided wonderful support these last few years.

Donations may be made to the Shriners’ Hospitals for Children, 1003 boul Decarie, Montreal, QC H4A 0A9, Carewest Colonel Belcher www.carewest.ca/donating/, St. George’s Anglican Church, 2523 - 56th St. N.E., Calgary, Alberta, T1Y 6E7 or to a charity of your choice.

If you would like to take a moment to remember Norm, do so with a bowl of chocolate ice cream and a big smile, as he would. A memorial will be arranged at a later date. God bless all - Rest in Peace, dear Norman.
