Avoid Turcot Interchange and Jacques Cartier Bridge
A construction blitz will cause a series of detours and road closures around downtown Montreal over the weekend.
Here are some areas to avoid, if possible:
TURCOT INTERCHANGE/ CHAMPLAIN BRIDGE
Access to southbound Highway 15 was scheduled to be sealed off Thursday night from both directions of the Turcot Interchange. Drivers who need to take the Samuel de Champlain Bridge will have to use the De La Montagne exit off Highway 720 and follow signs toward the span. Regular traffic will resume Monday at 5 a.m.
JACQUES CARTIER BRIDGE
Traffic on the bridge will be squeezed down to only one lane in both directions until Monday at noon. Access to Parc Jean-drapeau from the southbound lane will only be available through a detour that takes drivers across the bridge and back toward the city.
MERCIER BRIDGE
The Kahnawake-bound section of the bridge will be closed for repair, meaning only one lane of traffic will flow in both directions starting 2 a.m. Saturday. Normal traffic will resume at 5 a.m. Monday.
HIGHWAY 10/HIGHWAY 30
Starting Friday at 10 p.m., westbound Highway 10 will be shut down as of the merge with Highway 30. A detour via Highway 30 west will be available until the span reopens Monday at 5 a.m.
HIGHWAY 40
Highway 40 was scheduled to be sealed off Thursday night as of Exit 65 – P.-é.-trudeau / A-520 up until the Décarie Expressway. As of Friday 10 p.m., the span will be closed in both directions between Exit 65 and l’acadie Blvd. Detours on the highway’s service road will be available until it reopens Monday at 5 a.m.
