‘My heart is broken. I am broken’

-

An Instagram post from the verified account of Canadian television sports personality Dan O’toole suggest his one-month-old daughter has been kidnapped.

A post appeared on O’toole’s Instagram account shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday alongside a black-andwhite picture of the little girl wrapped in a blanket.

“My baby Oakland. I’m praying that whoever has you, is holding you. That whoever has taken you from me, is protecting you. That however (sic) has you, let’s you come back into my arms,” the post reads. “I love you Oakland. I can’t wait to one day hold you again. My heart is broken. I am broken. To be clear, Oakland is alive, we think. But we don’t know. I have a one month old child, and I don’t know where she is.”

No Amber Alert was issued for the child, according to ET Canada.

Several friends and colleagues responded in sympathy to O’toole’s tweet.

Talk show host Craig Needles tweeted that he was “crying” upon hearing the news.

“I’m currently sitting on the couch, holding my daughter and crying thinking about Dan O’toole and his baby,” he wrote.

“I hope this nightmare is over for him soon.”

Ian Mclaren, host of Locked on Boston Bruins, also tweeted his support to the O’toole family.

“Dan O’toole is a national treasure and I can’t handle anything happening to him and his family,” Mclaren wrote.

O’toole, 44, co-stars on the nightly sports highlight/ segments show Sportscentre with Jay and Dan alongside longtime TSN partner Jay Onrait.

O’toole and wife, Corrie, announced the birth of their third daughter, Oakland, at the end of May.

“Meet Oakland Eleanor Sandra Newman-o’toole,” read an Instagram post from O’toole’s account on May 26.

“My brand new lil girl who has a million names, and all of my heart. In case it was ever in doubt, no officially NEVER forgetting 2020.”

Requests for comment or versification from both TSN and Bell Media president Randy Lennox were not returned by press time.
