NIFAKOS ROUMELIOTIS, Eleni
December 26, 1934 - June 29, 2020
On June 29th, 2020 Eleni Nifakos Roumeliotis decided that she would go join her beloved husband Petros to celebrate his Nameday together and so with heavy hearts her family and friends bid her farewell with love and reverence.
Eleni was born in Greece where at an early age she met and married her soulmate Petros Roumeliotis and in the mid 1950's they made their way to Montreal where, with nothing but hopes, dreams, hard work and infinite love for each other they built their home and created their loving family.
Eleni was the biological Mother of two fortunate children however, many people considered her their surrogate Mother.
She was many things to many people and with her larger-than-life personality blessed the lives of all those who surrounded her, but first and foremost she was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. As a Mother she was protective, sacrificing and tireless and her family always came first.
She was a brave and fearless woman whose optimism, spunk and determination obliterated the word "defeat" from her vocabulary and she transmitted this strength to her children, grandchildren, friends and to all of those who needed her.
Her warmth, good humour and eternal optimism always made people around her laugh and feel safe. Thanks to her lionheartedness and vivacious personality, she made friends everywhere she went and honoured her friendships with loyalty, respect and relentless support. For Eleni, her friends were simply an extension of her family. Having her in your corner was a true gift!!
We will all miss her sparkling green eyes, her contagious smile, the love she emanated with her simple presence and the voice that always said "I am here for you". This extraordinary woman will be deeply missed by all. The legacy she passes on to all of us is one of compassion and kindness.
Eleni is survived by her son Paul Roumeliotis (Diana), her daughter Georgia Roumeliotis and her grandchildren Nikolas and his fiancée Bo, Helen and Peter. She is also survived by her sister in Greece Aphrodite, her sister Kiki and brother in law Loucas and by many loving nieces and nephews and countless friends.
Glukia mou Mana, I thank you for all your unconditional love and support and I will carry you in my heart forever.
Your adoring daughter.
