VOLUNTEERS

West Island Citizen Advocacy 514694-5850, is looking for volunteers to help out with the following:

■ A retired classical ballet dancer from Pierrefonds in her 80s would like a volunteer to make friendly phone calls to her. She has spent a lot of her career working with children and has great stories to share. She is very passionate about the arts and loves painting as well as doing crafts. She has some memory problems but it does not affect her ability to hold a great conversation.

■ An elderly man in his 90s with memory problems would enjoy the company of a male volunteer to go on short walks with him around his neighbourhood. He lives in his own home in Dollard-des-ormeaux and he is also open to going for walks inside the Fairview shopping centre.

■ An English-speaking 63-yearold woman in Lachine is looking for a volunteer to do outings with to break her isolation. She would like to be accompanied when she goes to restaurants or medical appointments.

■ A witty 66-year-old woman who has fragile health and who suffers from chronic pain would benefit from receiving visits at her home in Lachine. She speaks French and English. She is very isolated and has no family support.
