What's open and closed over the long weekend

Here's a partial list of what will be open or closed on Quebec's National Patriots Day (or Victoria Day elsewhere in Canada), on Monday, May 23: ■ Banks will be closed.

■ Many shopping malls and stores will be open regular hours.

■ Most Société des alcools du Québec outlets will be open.

■ Société québécoise du cannabis outlets will be open.

■ Montreal's public markets will be open, some with slightly modified hours. The Atwater and Maisonneuve markets will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., while the Jean-talon

Market will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

■ Municipal offices will be closed. Montreal's 311 phone line will remain in operation. The deadline for payment of the second instalment of municipal taxes is June 1.

■ Montreal's Ecocentres will be open.

■ The Montreal Municipal Court (775 Gosford St.) service counter will be closed.

■ Parking meters remain in operation unless otherwise specified and all restrictions must be obeyed.

■ Revenue Quebec offices will be closed.

■ Canada Post offices will be closed.

■ The Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium, Biodôme, Botanical Garden, Insectarium and Biosphère will be open.

■ Société de transport de Montréal bus lines will operate on a holiday schedule. Consult schedules at stm.info/en or call 514-288-6287.

Adapted transit service will be on holiday mode. Most regular service will be cancelled except for trips for hemodialysis. Anyone wishing to travel with adapted transit will have to submit a travel request.

■ The Société de transport de Laval and Réseau de transport de Longueuil buses and adapted transit will run on Saturday schedules.
