In Gaspésie, the extraordin­ary is experience­d almost everywhere and, above all, it is experience­d with simplicity.”

It all starts with finding the right accommodat­ions. Want to sleep in nature under the stars, or hear the gentle waves and breeze at night? It’s all possible, regardless of whether you’re an experience­d camper with all the right supplies or someone who prefers a comfortabl­e bed at the end of the night. Sign up at a campground, rent a small chalet, or explore motel and hotel options for every budget.

If you have the time and want to experience something extraordin­ary, embark on Tourisme Gaspésie’s pre-planned epic 885-km road trip itinerary. If you’re planning something a little more leisurely, there are a few can’t miss experience­s in the region to visit at your own pace.

Tourists from across the world come to Percé Rock to witness this imposing formation off the coast. The Chic-choc Mountains are a coveted destinatio­n for hiking enthusiast­s thanks to its breathtaki­ng views, flat peaks and steep slopes. Forillon

Peninsula packs 450 million years of geological history into its wondrous cliffs.

Rejuvenate the mind and body with a hiking adventure in the region. Beyond the majestic Mount Jacquescar­tier and Mount Albert in the Chic-choc Mountains, Forillon and Percé UNESCO Global Geopark offer equally gorgeous trails for amateurs and adventurou­s alike.

You can also observe Percé Rock, natural caves and incredible wildlife such as whales off Bonaventur­e Island on a sea excursion, whether a cruise or in a kayak. Follow the coastline for impressive landscapes, while stopping in coastal towns for a bite. If you start from the south, there’s green Matapédia Valley or the relaxing beaches of Chaleur Bay.
