Hunger in Moose Jaw Receives Grant from DuPont Pioneer
On October 12th, DuPont Pioneer donated $3000 to Hunger in Moose Jaw as part of its Full Belly! Full Mind! initiative that supports nutrition and breakfast programs across Canada. The grant will be specifically used to fund the dairy program which supplements the child nutrition program that provides 350 children in 15 local schools with lunches every day. Terrance McKee, Pioneer Hi-Bred sales representative, endorsed the grant. “A well-balanced, healthy diet is important for learning and development,” says Cory Ells, DuPont Pioneer account manager. “We are pleased to support Hunger in Moose Jaw’s efforts to provide nutritious lunches to children.” “Hunger in Moose Jaw currently provides an average of 350 lunches every day, usually consisting of a sandwich, piece of fruit, and a snack, with milk or yogurt added when funds are available,” says Sharla Sept, Executive Director, Hunger in Moose Jaw. “The donation from DuPont Pioneer will ensure that children regularly get dairy included in their lunch and the nutrition that comes with it.” Pioneer makes contributions to community-based organizations on behalf of the business and employees. Consideration for outreach grants are given to communities where Pioneer representative, employees and customers live and work and that support quality-of-life initiatives to create an improved, sustainable lifestyle for people worldwide.
