“Points for Hunger” campaign continues

-

The Moose Jaw Warriors and The Mosaic Company are once again announcing their continued support of the “Points for Hunger” campaign in support of Hunger In Moose Jaw. Throughout the 2017-2018 regular season, for every point that Warriors forward Noah Gregor gets, home and away, Mosaic will donate $250 to Hunger In Moose Jaw. Warriors forward Noah Gregor said he is honoured to once again be involved in the “Points for Hunger” campaign. “When you hear about young students missing out on something as simple as lunch, it’s heartbreaking. Not only will I do my best to raise as much money and awareness that I can, I also look forward to delivering these lunches as much as I can throughout the year.

“I’d like to say thank you to the Mosaic Company for teaming up with myself and the Warriors as we try to end hunger in our city. Knowing that every point that I earn this season goes to help Hunger in Moose Jaw is a privilege and I look forward to the challenge.”

This marks the third year of “Points for Hunger. Last year, Gregor led the way for the Warriors and received some help from Jayden Halbgewachs when he was injured. Mosaic donated $30,000 to Hunger In Moose Jaw to help fund their “Growing Tomorrow’s Minds” Program.

“Growing Tomorrow’s Minds” is a child nutrition program that provides children with nutritious lunches every school day, which are a vital part of a child performing well in the classroom. Not only does the program fuel learning at school, “Growing Tomorrow’s Minds” showcases the importance of nutrition and healthy eating, drawing awareness to the fact that there are children who go hungry in our city.

“The amazing support of The Mosaic Company for an initiative of this nature is truly overwhelming,” commented Warriors Director, Business Operations Corey Nyhagen. “Being able to have our fans get behind and cheer on Noah while he pushes to raise money and awareness for such an important cause right here at home makes it that much more special.”

“Mosaic has worked alongside the Warriors for over five seasons to support Hunger In Moose Jaw’s Child Nutrition Program. We’ve had a number of talented young men champion the partnership during this time and are excited that Noah Gregor will be continuing the tradition,” said Mosaic’s Senior Director, Public Affairs, Sarah Fedorchuk. “At Mosaic, our mission is to help the world grow the food it needs, so investing in local food security programs, like Points for Hunger, connects to the work we do every day to achieve this mission,” she adds.

To date, Points for Hunger has raised $4,250 for Hunger In Moose Jaw. Point totals can be found throughout the season at www.mjwarriors.ca.
