City of Moose Jaw Releases New Online Citizen Budget Tool
In anticipation of the upcoming 2018 budget deliberations, the City of Moose Jaw has launched their online Citizen Budget public consultation tool. Various city departments and their budgetary decisions are available for citizen review.
This is the fifth year the City has offered this feedback option, with the survey offering optional selections for any preferred 2018 budget changes respondents deems necessary. Moose Jaw Mayor Fraser Tolmie encourages all taxpayers to utilize the Citizen Budget to address priorities in planning for the future.
Finance Director Brian Acker says the new consultation tool is a shorter version with a consolidated comment section at the end of the survey. The survey should now only take approximately five minutes to complete. Motivation to make this change came from the realization that the survey was too long and only a small number of surveys were completed. “Shortening the survey” Acker added, “will hopefully capture more of the 1500 people who come to complete the survey.” The City will then take all the citizen budget survey feedback and present it to council prior to doing their budget deliberations.
To use the online Budget Consultation Tool between now and November 17, 2017, visit http://moosejaw.citizenbudget.com. Alternatively, you can email your feedback to: budget@moosejaw.ca.
