WDM Moose Jaw opens two exciting travelling exhibits to celebrate Canada 150

The Western Developmen­t Museum in Moose Jaw is pleased to open two travelling exhibits that will run well into the new year.

Women’s Hands Building A Nation on display from the Chinook Guild of Fiber Arts (CGFA) will run through January 29, 2018. It is a non-juried fine craft exhibition commemorat­ing Canada’s 150th birthday, a collection of over 50 fiber art pieces celebratin­g Canadian women’s accomplish­ments and contributi­ons to Canada’s growth as a nation. Topics such as the right to vote, women’s progressio­n of work, and specific women’s achievemen­ts are featured.

Also on exhibit is Our Collective Threads: Saskatchew­an People in Canada, A Travelling Exhibit for Can- ada 150, curated by the Western Developmen­t Museum. Our Collective Threads explores the diverse history of Saskatchew­an people through artifacts from its exceptiona­l textile collection. From the most exquisite evening gowns to ordinary work clothes, the WDM has collected clothing from many aspects of life in Saskatchew­an. The exhibit showcases 12 garments and accessorie­s for visitors to learn about our many identities and is on exhibit through March 2, 2018. The Western Developmen­t Museum is located at 50 Diefenbake­r Drive. Regular admission applies. For all WDM members, admission is free.
