5th Annual Kids Helping Kids Dance-a-thon
Dance Images by BJ in Moose Jaw will be hosting their fifth annual Kids Helping Kids Dance-a-thon on Sunday, November 26th from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. This fundraiser was born out of the passion of a Dance Image’s grad, Jessica Froehlich, who wanted all youth to have the opportunity to have access to the joy and benefits that being a dancer can produce.
The Dance-a-thon is entirely organized and run by Dance Image’s dancers, with the support and guidance of the Dance Images staff! On the day of the Dancea-thon there will be non-stop dancing by Dance Image’s kids of all ages—from the littlest on up! The studio’s seniors will be responsible for stretching the kids, teaching them a dance, and making sure that everyone is having an extraordinary experience! The organization committee, which is composed of this year’s Dance Images grads, includes: Kira Bryan, Mackenzie Walter, Rachael Carline, Fiona Watt, Jessica Wray, Amanda Duckworth, Dawsyn Utley and Asiah Johnson.
All funds raised by the Dance-a-thon are donated to Saskatchewan charity Creative Kids to be allocated to local children who want to participate in dance but would otherwise be unable to afford it. Creative Kids funds Saskatchewan children who want to take part in music, dance lessons, learn to paint, act, or join a number of other creative pursuits in their community. Many of the dancers know children involved with this charity and the dance instructors have seen, year after year, how children benefit from this wonderful organization. The dancers are so thankful for all that being able to dance has given them, and it is important to them to give back to their community and art form. The Dance-a-thon has raised over $48,000 in four years!
Kids Helping Kids is an excellent way for local dancers to show their community how much they care, be able to pass on their love of dance to other children, and to demonstrate just how determined dancers can be!
