Leslie Belle Elizabeth Lasby

-

January 19, 1957- December 15, 2017

We are profoundly saddened to announce the death of Leslie B. E. Lasby as we accompanied her along the way. Leslie grew up on the family farm SW of Pense, SK with her parents, Charles and Kathleen, older siblings, Linda and Lee as well as an entourage of farm animals. Her natural curiosity and mechanical aptitude compelled her to find out how things worked and what better place to test the waters than the Lasby Farm. Farming came naturally to Leslie and she was committed to continually improving her practice. When the farm work was finished for the day she then went to the office and capably managed the FRLee Investments. Her exceptional critical thinking skills enabled her to focus on the minutest detail yet also keep an eye on the big picture she knew would emerge. Leslie was an engaging person who easily related to people from all walks of life and was keenly interested in their life stories. She rejuvenated herself by spending the winters in Gold Canyon AZ, reconnecting with friends, golfing and creating new adventures. She was proud of her rural roots which firmly grounded her for life, kept her humble and nourished her integrity. She was pragmatic, extended herself selflessly to others and through it all maintained her quirky sense of humour. Most of all she led by example and expected of others only what she would first do herself. Leslie was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Kathleen, her sister Linda and brother-in-law James Carefoot. She is survived by her partner- Helen Timm; brother Lee (Katherine) their children, Frank, Mary(Derek), John and Laura; her nieces and nephews; Charlie (Treena), Ava and Grace; Barbara (Darwin), Sarah (Chloe), Michael, Lindsay, and Axel; Thomas (Theadoshia) Ila, Emmy and Earl as well as extended family and friends from near and far. Interment in Rosedale Cemetery will be held prior to the service @ 12:30pm. A Memorial Service will be held on January 6, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Zion United Church, 423 Main St. N. Moose Jaw with Rev.
