Congratulations Premier Scott Moe; Thank You Premier Brad Wall
turing, wholesale trade, retail sales; all these sectors and more saw Saskatchewan lead Canada. Our population grew by nearly 164,000 people. Premier Wall operated under the premise that the purpose of growth was to improve the quality of life for all the people of Saskatchewan. The SAID (Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability) program was introduced and the Seniors Income Plan funding was tripled after 16 years of no increase. In health care, we went from having the longest surgical wait times in Canada to among the shortest. Young people were staying in our province to find employment and start their careers. Personal income tax has been lowered so that more people kept more of their hard-earned money. Highway infrastructure has improved, along with new senior care homes, new schools and new hospitals. Attending the opening of the Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital is a highlight of my time as your MLA. Brad Wall always gave credit to the spirit of the people of Saskatchewan for the growth that happened. He knew that it could only happen because we came together with hope, ingenuity and hard work. That spirit of Saskatchewan will keep our province growing stronger under Premier Moe. One of Premier Moe’s first duties will be to address those attending the SUMA convention happening this week. Mayor Tolmie and several of our city councillors will be there along with city council representatives from cities and towns across Saskatchewan. This is an important event for urban municipalities to collaborate and work together for the betterment of our towns and cities and our province. Thank you to former Premier Brad Wall for his leadership and passion in bringing about a decade of growth in Saskatchewan. Congratulations to Premier Scott Moe. We look forward to working with the new Premier and the people of Saskatchewan to keep our province growing stronger.
