Author hopes to inspire hope through new book

- Sasha-Gay Lobban

Author, Gaylene Guillemin, from Assiniboia will be coming to Moose Jaw on Thursday, February 8th where she will host a book signing for her new book, “Beyond Shattered Dreams.”

The event will be held at the Crescent Park Event Center (formerly Jones Family Center) at 262 Athabasca St. E. at both 2:00 p.m. and again at 7:00 p.m. The book is a journey through grief and self-empowerment.

Guillemin wrote “Beyond Shattered Dreams” following her husband’s passing. It offers hope for those grieving. “It is about my journey with my husband Merv during his illness, along with my personal grief journey after his passing,” she said. “This is a journey that has changed me from the person I used to be, with so many life lessons coming my way. When I look back, I hardly recognize that person from the person I am today. I have walked so many miles taking one scary step at a time and conquering so many fears. The day my husband passed away left me shattered asking the question “Who am I now and how will I survive?”

She hopes that by sharing her story, it will give hope and strength to others going through similar circumstances. “In sharing my story, my hope is to help others find their strength to survive their own personal grief journey. I believe that by shining my light, it will inspire others who want to shine their light. That is the motto that I live by.”

“Beyond Shattered Dreams” is being sold at La Boutique Ladies Wear at 317 Main Street North.

They are also sold at Kelli’s Fashions in Assiniboia.

Gaylene Guillemin will have her books available for sale at a cost of $17.00 each and would be pleased to sign your copy of her book if you so wish. Everyone is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served following her presentation.
