SOAR for Cystic Fibrosis: Support this Charitable Endeavour

- Joan Ritchie

Soon on the horizon, K+S Potash Canada SOAR for Cystic Fibrosis will be delighting all those in attendance at the Moose Jaw Municipal Airport on May 5th, 2018. Preparations have long been in the works to create this first annual one-of-a-kind event, and they need your support to make this fundraiser a huge success!

“The team behind the event is creating an unforgettable experience, creating an atmosphere where we can all celebrate living life to its fullest while raising money for a cause so dear to our hearts,” said Kimberley Evans, Event Chair. The Evans’ family continues to focus their efforts towards finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis, as their nine-year-old daughter Cassidy Evans bravely battles this disease. Unfortunately, as of now, there is no known cure, but there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon as a new drug currently is in research trials that has shown to reverse the effects of Cystic Fibrosis and can improve the quality of life for Cassidy and the four thousand Canadians fighting for their lives from this disease.

The SOAR fundraiser evening kicksoff at 7:00 p.m. with delicious food and beverage pairing stations, as well as a fully stocked bar where individuals can purchase their favourite libations. Mingling on this magical evening is a must!

One of the highlights of the SOAR event will be an aerobatic performance by Brent Handy. As an unrestricted, surface-rated aerobatic pilot, his performance will thrill the spectators. Currently, he flies the Pitts Special at air shows across Canada and the US, while at the same time maintaining a full-time career on active duty with the RCAF as a training and standards pilot, responsible for the Snowbirds. And if great food and drinks with good friends and a high-flying act isn’t enough, Nashville recording artist Tenille Arts will be ‘in-the-house’ performing incredible music, as well as singing “Breeze”. Notably, if you download her song “Breeze”, all of the proceeds are designated to go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Originally from Weyburn, Arts moved to Nashville in the fall of 2015, after signing a publishing deal with Noble Vision Music Group. In October 2016, she released a self-titled EP featuring six songs she co-wrote and has continued her prolific songwriting career, co-writing 10 of the 11 songs on her latest album Rebel Child. Released on Oct. 20, 2017, the disc reached No. 2 on the iTunes country chart in Canada and broke into the Top 40 on the U.S. country chart, not to mention that on January 29th she performed on the show ‘Bachelor’ seen on ABC. Prizes and a Grand Prize Trip for 2 to Nashville will be raffled off. Individual tickets are $100 per person and Corporate Tables for 10 are available at $1350 (includes logo on table & recognition in event program). Age restrictions for attendees is 19 yrs and older. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available at celebratingsimplelife.com. You can also purchase drink tickets at the same time. For those wishing to pay by cash or cheque, please email kimberly@celebratingsimplelife.com . Parking is limited at the Municipal Airport so it is advised to use the shuttle service that will be available that evening. Specific details are forthcoming and updated as the date moves closer.

SOAR for Cystic Fibrosis is expected to be a very memorable evening, so please consider attending and supporting this charitable endeavour.
