Yoga Loft provides introductory yoga class for guests at open house
Whether it is to find an avenue to release stress, pains of any kind, well needed personal time or just to relax and meditate, several people showed up at the Yoga Loft’s open house on Wednesday, September 12 to find some down time and do yoga, some doing it for the very first time. Owner of Yoga Loft, Robyn Cunningham gave guests a rundown of the services they offer at the Loft, as well as led visitors into some of the yoga routines that take place there on a daily basis. Cunningham believes that “every person can create a radiant life by just diving into the richness that yoga has to offer.” Her teachings are modern, relevant, and encourage you to rediscover your zest for life.
During her introduction at the open house, Cunningham reassures attendees that yoga caters to the whole being; mentally, spiritually and physically and it is a way to not only relax but it also gives the body the revitalization it needs.
In its mission, The Yoga Loft says, “yoga is for everyone, regardless of age or ability; it’s just a matter of working closely together to ensure your needs are being met. We are here to provide a safe, enjoyable practice that will benefit your whole self: physically, mentally, and spiritually. Our goal is that you walk out of each class feeling refreshed, energized, and happy.” The Yoga Loft also believes: in creating the most welcoming environment so that nobody feels intimidated joining classes; yoga is a transformative practice that is suitable for everybody; in offering various yoga styles that suit different needs; in having inspiring teachers that are registered with the Yoga Alliance; that yoga will help you achieve your health goals and in giving back to the world community.
The Yoga Loft also outlined some of the benefits of regularly practicing yoga. This includes: it tones and strengthens muscles to build functional strength; increases range of motion and flexibility—yoga lengthens and strengthens muscles and increases pliability and elasticity of connective tissues; reduces tension, anxiety, and other emotional stress by quieting your mind and focusing on acceptance, contentment, and self-awareness; gives your body necessary time to heal, repair, and rejuvenate by quieting the mind and slowing down the nervous system and it gives you quality “me” time away from the stressors in your life— yoga allows you the time needed to physically, mentally, and spiritually fill up your tank, instead of running on empty and lots more! Some of the yoga classes offered at the Yoga Loft are: kids’ yoga, pregnancy yoga, workshops and retreats and private sessions.
