Keeping Them in Stitches!
Kerry Buzzell of Brantford, Ont., writes, “I am a member of a group called the ‘Stitching Sisters’ here in Brantford. We’ve been cross-stitching for more than 30 years. For the past eight years, we have attended a retreat at a B&B called Brentwood on the Beach, which is situated on the beautiful shores of Lake Huron. Our group calls it Heaven on the Huron, as the view of Lake Huron is indescribably beautiful. Many of our ladies grab their bags of stitching, find their favourite chair and settle in—trying to focus on stitching, but at the same time trying to keep an eye on the lake! Needless to say, many of us have to take out some stitches and redo them, but that’s okay. We’re only able to visit once a year, so it‘s worth the extra effort. Sadly, this will be our last year at this beautiful B&B, as the new owner is no longer having retreats. The good news is that we’re now looking for a new place to bring our cross-stitching.
