MEETING PLACE BARBARA ARIS

Married for 47 years, Barb is a caregiver to her husband Mike, who has Parkinson’s disease and PTSD. Being able to visit with relatives, as well as the magnificent view of the ocean, made Port Greville, N.S., the perfect retirement choice for them. The couple constructed their home overlooking Barb’s cherished Bay of Fundy—the subject of her story, The View From the Bank, on page 40, where she loves hosting their two children and their families. Barb also enjoys painting, writing a community newsletter and volunteering— helping to make life safe, interesting and social for the disabled and seniors.
