GO FISH!

Helen Rempel of Portage la Prairie, Man., writes, “My now 85-yearold mother Anne decided to try her hand at fishing a couple of years ago, so one afternoon we took her to a popular fishing spot close to her home in Carrot River, Sask. This just shows you can keep active, stay healthy and have fun at any age!”

PICK OF THE CROP!

“Growing up in Alberta meant berry picking every summer,” says

Sharon Peters of Three Hills, Alta. “As a child, I didn’t appreciate this ‘chore.’ On the other hand, I always appreciated the saskatoon pies my mom made in winter. Three years ago at a family reunion, we discovered that the saskatoon berry crop was plentiful. Several family members grabbed pails and went berry picking, including my 87-year-old mother, Evelyn.”

MAN’S BEST FRIEND

Diane Killman of Burns Lake, B.C., writes, “I took this pic of my husband Ernie and our dog Bailey at Alexis Creek Campground during a monthlong holiday to Chilcotin, B.C., last summer.“

PLENTY OF DRIVE

Gloria von Muhlen of Pembroke, Ont., writes, “My soon to be 91-year-old father Nicholas regularly uses this antique tractor on his long-time hobby farm in Eganville, Ont., to cut grass or pull logs. He collects tractors and maintains them with great care and pride. One afternoon a couple of years ago, I was taking photos of nature scenes and, as he drove by, he smiled and waved at me. I snapped a picture and captured an unforgettable image of two “old timers” performing their duties with youthful vigour.”

NUTS ABOUT WILDLIFE

Dorise Arsenault Cormier of Moncton writes, “I captured this pic of my mother Rosie feeding our ‘pet chipmunk’ Chippee at our cottage in beautiful Sainte Marie de Kent, N.B. Mom was 90 at the time, she’s now 93 and will get quite a kick out of seeing her picture in a magazine!” ■
