Editor’s Letter

Whether you’re out celebrating with friends and family at the local gathering spot, attending a formal gala event, hosting a house party or simply enjoying a quiet evening with a loved one, ringing in the new year is always special. This year, of course, we get to ring in an entire new decade, but before we do, I’d like to take a moment to thank you for your continuing interest and involvement in Our Canada and More of Our Canada.

Launched in 2004 and 2008 respectively, both magazines owe their ongoing success and popularity to you, our readers. Not only do a remarkable number of you so willingly share your memories, experiences and talents with your fellow Canadians and, according to our surveys, read every issue from cover to cover, you also spread the word about our publications at every opportunity and pass along your copies to others once you have finished with them. Likewise, your participation in our online and social media initiatives, as well as our annual photo contest—which is currently under way (page 29)—is simply off the charts!

In this day and age of transitioning media, your loyalty and high level of engagement in our print publications and associated activities are viewed here at Our Canada with pride and wholehearted appreciation. As the new decade dawns around us, we will be doing our utmost to keep the momentum going in bringing you, your family and your community together with even more Canadians across the country via our publications, website and social media platforms. Thank you for a wonderful 2019 and all the best to you and yours throughout the 2020s.
