A POET’S LAMENT

-

Woke up this morning, splashed cold water on my face. Sheepishly looking into the mirror, afraid of my own reflection or what I might find.

I’m not feeling the greatest, what can I say? The world’s seems a little more crazy. Wondering if we lost our way?

Lost within my moment, today is becoming yesterday. Another day locked inside my prison. At least we have somewhere to stay.

Living from moment to moment, we are all frozen in time. Show a little kindness it goes a long way. If we all learned to share, we would not be in this state.

Surfing the TV what do I see? Nurses without mask crying, afraid they might die.

Their tears flowed like a swollen river, pleading for help, I tell you it’s no lie.

Searching to find the right words, to express what’s going on in my mind. Wondering if they will make it? Keep asking yourself why?

News flash, politician man cuts in, shooting off his mouth, everything will be alright. Promises of a strong economy, and how it will save your lives.

Facts becomes fiction, good luck reading between those lies. Living through another day of hell, hoping your tears will subside.

Please hang on, praying that you all can survive.
