DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE

“Capturing this double rainbow was just a matter of being in the right place at the right time,” says Manfred Rupp of Kingston, Ont., “This one occurred at the Lemoine Point Conservation Area.”

TRANQUIL SETTING

“I think this pic is quite unique,” shares Marina Penner of Peace River, Alta. “I love the way the rainbow is spanning the Peace River, setting off the hills and cloudy sky in the background—not to mention the view of the river itself.”

HOPE ON THE HORIZON

“The summer of 2017 was very stormy in central Alberta with lots of wild weather,” writes Kathleen Ennis of Delburne, Alta. “I captured this full rainbow at my acreage outside of Delburne on the evening of my mum’s 79th birthday. It’s almost as if I’m looking at a new world, rising from the horizon, and like all rainbows, it gives me hope that there are better days ahead for us all.”

THE VIEW FROM ABOVE

“We experienced quite a few storms here in Alberta in the summer of 2017, but the colours that this storm presented us with were something else,” shares Sabine Cane of Tawatinaw, Alta. “My husband and I drove down the road where we could overlook a neighbour’s field. The entire sky ended up this strange orange colour, and we knew that this was going to be a huge storm. This image shows only a fraction of the scenery we were able to enjoy, but to me it still has it all—a portion of the beautiful Alberta Prairie sky, storm clouds, an old homestead, and part of a full rainbow.”

(far left) SEASONAL BEAUTY

“This rainbow shot was captured on an early fall morning after a rain storm,” says Tania Murray of Phelpston, Ont. “It’s my favourite time of year.”

HAPPY ENDING

“After an intense storm in the summer of 2017, a beautiful bright rainbow showed up to mark the end of the chaos,” says Rebecca Bromberger of St. Paul, Alta.

HOME SWEET HOME

“This picture (above) was taken the first year my boyfriend and I moved from British Columbia to Alberta,” shares Kimberley Capp of Sherwood Park, Alta. “Despite the severe longing for home that I was feeling and the uncertainty of the future that was looming over us, I appreciated seeing this lovely sight on the drive to Edmonton. You can always find beauty no matter where you are in the world and Canada is one of the most beautiful places there is.”
