PEACEFUL SOLITUDE

“I snapped this pic early one morning before anyone else in the campsite had woken up,” shares Judi Neumeyer of Surrey, B.C. “Even before the fishermen got out on the lake to catch breakfast! We camp at Lundbom Lake regularly; it is a wilderness campsite without water or power, but is perfect for us.”

SHROUDED IN FOG

“We were blessed with having two of our children and their children stay with us at our cottage several years ago,” says Jaan Ranne of Arnprior, Ont. “I was out for my customary dawn row on the lake when, through the fog, I spotted one of my daughters kayaking with one of her daughters. The sun had just risen and provided the perfect backdrop for the photo. Combined with the fog, my daughter and granddaughter were nicely silhouetted against the golden backdrop.”

TRANQUIL MOMENT

“I spotted these sandhill cranes near my home in central Alberta one foggy morning in October of 2018,” writes Julie Birch of Didsbury, Alta. “As I watched them move silently and majestically across the field, I was filled with a feeling of peace and tranquility—at one with these beautiful birds and the world.”

THE PADDLER

“We were up early to catch the sunrise in Algonquin Park when, through the early morning mist, this paddler came into view,” says Maureen Elliott of Owen Sound, Ont. “I knew I had the shot I wanted! I especially love to be out on a misty morning, watching the landscape gradually appear as the mist lifts; it is so quiet, peaceful.”

PERFECT TIMING

“I was working nights and headed home,” shares Monica Smits of Wingham, Ont. “It was November, after one of our first snowfalls, and I thought the early morning fog looked just beautiful over the field with the rising sun in the background. I parked my car, ran into the house to grab my camera and rushed down the road to get a good shot before the moment was lost.”
