SEASON’S CHANGE

- Vera Bosnjak, Burford, Ont.

Barren fields lie dormant, wearing a topcoat crusted with snow, while naked majestic maple trees glimmer against melancholy skies.

Snowflakes dance brilliantly in rhythm, surrendering with each resurgence of northerly winds. In awe my soul delights in our whimsical and unpredictable Canadian winters.

Although I welcome the rebirth of spring, with its kaleidoscope of colours.

Tulips and daffodils bud forth, robust bouquets full of immense beauty.

Our feathered friends dance and sing in joyful praise.

Wildflowers sway gracefully, while diffusing sweet scents to savour.

All of nature bursts forth in synchronized harmony, displaying God’s divine creation and love.

Exhibiting diversity while captivating life’s many heartfelt blessings.

Spring’s abundance of beauty is sustained by summers harmonious maintenance.

As mother nature revives our parched summers with a downpour of rain or gentle soothing shower, allowing crops to provide a sumptuous harvest for all economic consumption.

Family and children blossom, enjoying summer holidays, beach time, travel, barbecues and friends. Then shorter days of autumn display a palette of colour crimson red, orange and yellow.

Nature transitions into a lifeless brittle sleep, as the dance south begins for our feathered friends. Wildlife finds shelter and hunkers down for hibernation.

As winters northerly winds and chill progresses upon us, baron fields once again lie dormant, wearing a topcoat crusted with snow.
