En route to business pinnacle
EY recently hosted an exclusive EY Entrepreneur Of The Year finalist and alumni barbecue event at the Canadian Film Centre in Toronto. Over 100 people were in attendance in Toronto recently to celebrate the success of an eclectic group of entrepreneurs in Ontario.
The Entrepreneur of the Year and alumni barbecue event at the Canadian Film Centre celebrates the contribution and spirit of entrepreneurs everywhere. The program is now in its 21st year. Award finalists are chosen based on their vision, leadership, financial success and social responsibility. In the fall, each region — Pacific, Prairies, Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic — hosts a gala awards banquet, where EY honours each finalist and presents the awards.
The grand finale of the evening is the presentation of the region’s overall EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Award.
The five regional winners then advance to the national ceremony to compete for the prestigious title of Canada’s EY Entrepreneur Of The Year. Canada’s winner finally goes on to compete with the national winners from more than 50 countries at the spectacular World Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards gala in Monte Carlo the following June.
The Ontario winners will be announced at a gala on Oct. 29. The overall Ontario winner will represent the region at the national gala held in Toronto on Nov. 25.
“We’re proud to celebrate the achievements of Canada’s vibrant entrepreneurs and encourage others to follow in their footsteps,” says Colleen McMorrow, EY’s national and Ontario Entrepreneur Of The Year program director.
